Descrizione
De TRIAC is een drie -terminal halfgeleiderapparaat voor het regelen van stroom. Het krijgt zijn naam aan de term triode voor afwisselende stroom.
Het is effectief een ontwikkeling van de SCR of thyristor, maar in tegenstelling tot de thyristor die slechts in één richting kan worden uitgevoerd, is de Triac een bidirectioneel apparaat.
